One of the issues this blog likes to focus on is the importance of a diverse workforce. I happen to work in the geospatial industry. Here is an article I came across in Trajectory magazine about the importance of having women cartographers. While it focuses on women, you can extend the article’s logic to any underrepresented minority group.
On a related note, I just watched what I thought would be a decent, professional YouTube video about some cool gadgets that help you build your own computer. However, two-thirds into the video I gave up. One dick joke may be funny, depending on delivery, but one every 30 seconds is just bad form. That tech YouTuber has just lost a potential viewer. (I’m specifically not linking or identifying this person in any way because that would just help their numbers.) This kind of content is not up to TechDifferent standards.
